As we settle into January I’d like to welcome all newly engaged couples and new readers to the English Wedding Blog. It’s so very lovely to have you here! This morning I’m sharing my favourite weddings of 2013 which I hope will inspire some of you with your own wedding planning. Hannah and Sam were blog stars thanks to Lifeline Photography – the very amazing Hannah Webster – who shared their Midsomer Murders-inspired wedding with us in July! It’s wonderful, with plenty of ideas to inspire you as well as a John Cleese impersonator. Nice to see something a little different to your average magician, hehe!

This review of the year wouldn’t be the same without a Vespa wedding! I ride a Vespa so it’s pretty awesome when creative couples like Gary and Heather share their weddings on my blog! Their vintage travel wedding ticked all the boxes for me – they chose a superb wedding photographer, Neale James, and my lovely friend Joanne from Vintage Twee made their on the day stationery.

Clare and Ian’s wedding knocked my socks off, so much that I changed my wedding blog header to include one of their beautiful images by North West wedding photographers Pixies in the Cellar. The gorgeous couple chose a rustic theme for their wedding in Powys (yep, Wales, I know… but the English Wedding Blog knows no bounds!) You absolutely have to see this beautiful rustic wedding.

Some weddings just have that special extra little bit of magic. Sometimes it’s in the images, or in the stories my brides and grooms tell me. Other times there’s a gorgeous detail which wins me over, something I’ve never seen before or a special touch which is really personal to the bride and groom. Sometimes it’s just everything… as with Claire and Jim, whose relaxed and intimate wedding in Dorset has an amazing atmosphere, and just looks wonderful.
